This morning

This morning something told me to check my email ASAP. When I did I saw an email from the HR lady at the school (she's a very sweet lady!). In the email she said that my "visa was ready to pick up in Atlanta." WHAT!?!?!?
Silly me! How could I have possibly thought that I could just saunter my way into Switzerland without additional documentation (I already have a passport! hello!?)
My first thought was, "Okay, after the wedding reception in Maryland, I'll drive to ATL and 'pick up' my visa." Then, I go to the website and it says that it will take the office about a week to process my visa and they don't do "same day processing." OMG! Are you shitting me right now!?
I leave on August 2nd (or at least I wanted to leave then, now I don't know!)

Let's think about this:
Today is Friday, July 22. I FedEx-ed the other important documents, two passport photos, and the fee. It will get here Monday, July 25th. Hopefully, a nice lady or man will open the envelope and read my application and say, "Oh my! This girl wants to leave next week Tuesday! Let's process her application TODAY and get it into the mail to her by Wednesday the latest so she will have her passport/visa by Thursday, July 28th! Come on y'all, lets get this girl to Switzerland!" This is what I'm chanting for...making the impossible, possible!

However, maybe, I'm not supposed to be in Switzerland by August 3rd? Perhaps, I'm supposed to arrive August 4th and if that is the case probably this will happen: Still a nice man or lady opens my FedEx envelope, but doesn't care that I plan to leave on Aug. 2nd. He/She processes it like any other visa app. (thus taking one full week). He/She places it back in the mail on Monday, Aug. 1 and I get it on Tuesday, Aug 2 by 10:30 a.m. My flight from RDU takes off at 2:35 p.m. I'd be cutting it too close for comfort.

I must admit, when I first learned about this situation I cried. I was so overwhelmed. Well, actually I didn't start to cry until I was driving down Duke St. and a nice lady pulled up beside and said, "When you took that turn about two blocks ago your hubcap came off! It didn't hit anybody...but it came off!" Are you serious!? WTF!? Really!? I turned around and my hubcap has mysteriously disappeared. I can't find that sucker anywhere along Duke St or any of the other streets. Mind you, I'd like to sell my car next week too! So, that's when I started to cry, right there in my car (with only 3 hubcaps on) All of the stuff that I have to do just came up and I couldn't hold back my tears and slight anxiety. I wouldn't be human if I didn't have some anxiety, right?

Well, that all happened this morning between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Now, I feel better. I'm calm and still determined that nothing will keep me from moving to Switzerland. I'll get there. I'll land either on the the 3rd, the 4th, or even the 5th...it doesn't matter, as long as I land!
