Some poems

Every Thursday I have my after school club, which is Creative Writing. Some of these poems I share with the students. Some I don't (for obvious reasons). We talked about haiku and acrostic poems recently.

*

High in the clean air
Very green or white sometimes
Too heavy to move

*

Tall, high and below
I’m moving in the soft wind
Please don’t cut me down

 *

Hearts beat double time.
Oh they pray the sun will shine!
Come out from grey clouds

*

Sad and depressed. I am
Overwhelmed with operational depression.
Righting wrongs is hard for me to do. I'm searching for a
Road to healing.
You are my savior?

*

He thinks I’m naïve
I think he truly loves me
Fooled, abused girl

*

Help the sad soul, for she has no place to go
Evil lives within and has no way out
All that she knows she cannot trust
Let the pain and suffering go, but how?
Inward she searches for peace and understanding
Nothing is revealed to her
Go out and help the sad soul, for she has no place else to go

 *

Suddenly we feel a peace,
Underneath the shady tree.
May we lie down by a stream?
May we fall asleep and dream?
Eager are we as we wait to
Remember our final fate.

*

Maybe she will get better
Able to see the glass half full
Regretting one essential choice
Listening to no one still
Envious of those who are healed
Not believing in no one still
Agnostic

*

Silence
Let my eyes fall
Eighty minutes later still no sleep
Eighty nights later still no sleep
Please let me sleep.

 *

Early in the morning you wake.
X is not the answer to make.
All you need to know you know.
Many hours might go by slow.
Study, study, study!
