CLEAN Challenge Day 1

At around 8:30 p.m. (pre-day 1) I made me some lemon grass tea with honey and a big squeeze of lemon because I was feeling a little hungry.

So, I planned out my meals for Days 1-3. According to the Clean program you are supposed to have a smoothie/shake in the morning and evening and a "regular" meal for lunch. Here they are:

Day 1: Kiwi Fruit Tango, Easy Avocado Pineapple Gazpacho, Chocolate Charm  Roasted Chickpeas instead!
Day 2: Blueberry Pineapple, Spinach Avocado Soup have leftovers of the Gazpacho, Banana Rasberry
Day 3: Cinnamango, Zucchini Noodle Salad, Kiwi Fruit Tango

The Kiwi Fruit Tango smoothie was good. My mangoes weren't ripe enough yet so I left it out. But other than that I had spinach, kiwi, banana, coconut milk, water, and probably something else I'm forgetting. I have to remember to half the recipes because it creates so much. But I'm full! I had that shake at around 8:30 and then I had more at 10:30 because some was left over.

I'm so happy, I successfully made my own almond milk and I like it! It's a lot lighter than regular milk and it's good! It has such a nice, rich, smooth nutty flavor! With the almond pulp left over from squeezing out the milk I heated it up to dry it out and will save it to make almond cookies (since now I have almond flour)! I'm going to make hazelnut milk next! There's something so cool and rewarding about making my own food!

On another note, today I went to two different grocery stores to price out things like frozen fruits and coconut milk and every time I saw a product I was like, "Nope, I can't have that! Nope, no coffee, no chocolate, no wine! No, no!" It was sooo hard to see all of my "usual" products and know that for the next 20-30 days I won't be having any of them! And maybe even after my challenge I won't want any of them (although, I really don't see me giving up chocolate for the rest of my life).

I made some awesome pineapple avocado gazpacho for lunch. It was so good. I added basil and mint leaves and had it with a celery stalk. I made two servings of it so I'll have it for tomorrow's lunch too!

It's 5:30 p.m. and I don't feel hungry, nor do I feel stuff. I feel full and content.

SNACK ATTACK!: Here the Clean program gives you a whole meal plan. One very special section for me is the snacks. I've decided to make roasted chickpeas!

I wasn't too hungry at around dinner time. So I have skipped the "Chocolate Charm" smoothie and munched on some roasted chickpeas with thyme, rosemary, and cayenne pepper. Very good! I sipped water with lemon and mint as well. (According to the Clean program you're suppose to pee every hour!!!)

Until tomorrow!....
